Although Cinco de Mayo is not really a Mexican holiday, I do have to say it is a really good excuse to eat delicious food and appetizers like this savory mango salsa.
La Batalla de Puebla (The Battle of Puebla) was a battle fought on May 5, 1862 near the city of Puebla, Mexico. In reality Mexicans do not celebrate this historical day, however it has become a tradition and good excuse for people to celebrate and eat delicious Mexican food here in the United States.
To join the celebration I made this tasty mango salsa; that by the way, goes very well with chips just like others salsas such as pico de gallo and guacamole.
This recipe is rather simple, prepare it in advance and save it in the fridge for no more than 3 days.
