Limes (or limones as we said in my country) reminds me of my birth country, when the heat was unbearable and my mom used to make fresh juice for us. ..
My neighbor had a lime tree, who’s branches hung to the courtyard of our house; and we would pick the limes to make fresh limeade (It was like having a tree in our own backyard!) Gracias Nuri for sharing the limones!
Well…a couple of days ago, I made limeade and I thought to myself “why I don’t add some strawberries and make popsicles”? I did and they came out pretty good!
I grabbed my fresh strawberries…
Ingredients:
for the simple syrup
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup of sugar
Strawberry/limeade juice
- 1/2 cup of fresh lime juice
- 12 strawberries, hulled and halved
- 1 cup of water
Preparation: in a saucepan bring 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar to a boil, until sugar dissolves. Let it cool completely.
In a blender puree the strawberries until smooth. Add the lemon juice and 1 cup of water and the simple syrup, mix well.
Pour over popsicles molds and place in the freezer for a least 4 hour.
Enjoy!
